Although this is only the second vintage for this label, this wine has history. Made by a fifth generation winemaking family, this excellent example of an Argentine Tempranillo comes from 50-year-old vines in the heart of Mendoza. Dark ruby red and full of black, svelte, slightly smoky fruit, this wine also has showy notes of plum and black cherry with a tantalizing bite of pepper. A touch of tobacco and spice appears in a wine that finishes at quite a powerful pace. Try it with grilled pork stuffed with ripe plums or brushed with a berry barbeque sauce.
